Teaching opportunities in Thailand (and sometimes other countries in Asia)

Beware of several websites that are copying job ads ('stealing' is actually the correct word) from Ajarn dot com. We only post job ads that are sent DIRECTLY to us. An employer will sometimes ask us to make changes to a job description but those changes will NOT be made by the website copying the ad. Trust the info, trust Ajarn! View all the current teaching positions on the Ajarn jobs page.

Why do so many schools not recognize the importance of a good teachers' room?

— Which universities or schools would hire non native speakers?

Which universities or schools would hire non native speakers?

Answer - There is no definitive answer to this question. Some universities and schools will hire only native English speakers and others won't be so choosy. Each university, school and college in Thailand has their own recruitment criteria. That said, I definitely think there are more opportunities for non-native or European teachers these days as quality native speakers become harder to find, especially at those schools playing lower end salaries.

— What's Rangsit (Central Thailand) like for teachers?

What's Rangsit (Central Thailand) like for teachers?

Just 40 kilometres north of Bangkok, Rangsit can be rich pickings for an English teacher looking for a good choice of schools without being too far from the bright lights of the capital. It's a great choice for new arrivals.

Do you live and teach outside Bangkok? Please help us update one of our region guides if you can spare a few minutes.
